Primarily you will be expected to identify hazards and assess risks to OH&S in the workplace and deliver appropriate safety controls. The OH&S Manager will ensure all relevant and up to date information and advice on accident prevention and occupational health is relayed to all employees, thus ensuring the company are totally compliant with all OH&S legislation. Essential job functions will include but not be limited to: - Promoting occupational healthy and safety within the organisation
- Make sure that PPE is being used correctly and at the right times
- Identify and test work sites or areas for potential accident and health hazards and implement appropriate controls
- Coordinate emergency procedures, evacuations in case of fire, bomb threats etc
- Communicate frequently with Management to report on the status of the OH&S program
It is essential that interested applicants meet the following criteria. Those who apply and do not meet the criteria listed will not be shortlisted: - Tertiary qualification in OH&S
- Previous experience of working for a residential builder (essential)
- Commitment to excellence in safety and security
- A skilled communicator
- Able to work independently
- Have a high level of tact and diplomacy
