Team Leader Bridges

With a company record going back over 100 years, my client is a leader in the Melbourne civil engineering market. They have a multidisciplinary focus in the sectors of transport, property, water, resources and environmental consulting, and their experience in civil infrastructure includes highways, ports, bridges, and land development. They have recently won a significant interstate highways project as well as major rail infrastructure projects, and have created a new opportunity for a Bridges Team Leader to join their growing Melbourne Transport team.
 
You will be responsible for team leadership in terms of mentoring junior staff, technical reviews of designs, and design management and coordination. 
 
You will be a key member of the bridges team, winning work, providing leadership, technical advice and leading by example where appropriate. You will manage projects (or components of projects) to meet agreed budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets, and aim to exceed client expectation. You will promote and market bridge team services, as well as build and consolidate networks within the industry, as well as identify opportunities for process improvement, and contribute towards the achievement of the sector business plan. You will take on a leading role in the development of talent in the team, managing and mentoring junior team members.
  
To be successful in this role, you will have solid experience in civil structures with a focus on bridges. A minimum of 10 years experience in civil/structural engineering, and must be degree qualified. A strong technical background is required as well as the desire to work within a large team. We are interested in people with backgrounds from working in either consultancies or the public sector - but you must have strong experience working specifically on bridge projects.
