IMMEDIATE POST available for experienced commissioning professional with a background in Commissioning on Power Plant projects for an International Consultancy with global operations across energy, power, water and transportation.
My client is the approved consultant for Saudi Government Corporation as to delivery on a major Open Cycle conversion project. The site is based south of Port Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Construction work commenced in September 2010 with commissioning to commence immanently.
There is also additional extension work being undertaken on another unit which is also been assigned to my client so potential for real, secure long term work prospects
The power generation industry in Saudi Arabia is easily the most buoyant across the Middle East. This project is part of the Independent Power Projects (IPP) planned by the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) which will add a total of around 11,000 MW of much needed capacity to the region.

Role
- Supervision of site activities in close cooperation and under the supervision of the site manager and client.
- Approval and supervision of defined test procedures, start up sequences, reliability test runs and performance tests.
- Management and coordination of the site staff

Requirements
• MUST be degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline (electrical/mechanical/process) from a reputable western university. This is a government corporation requirement
• Excellent English communication skills (reading/writing/speaking) are imperative. Candidate should come from a project background in UK/Ireland/EU/USA with International experience - preferable in the Middle East.
• Minimum 10 years professional experience in power plant
engineering/construction projects with at least 3 years commissioning focused
**Candidates must be prepared to live and work in Saudi Arabia and would probably best suit the single status professional or professional who is willing to live away from home for a number months at a time**
