The Client
Due to growth our leading Global Engineering client are moving into new markets they now require a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their well-established engineering team.

The Role
  
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager you will manage and lead people and their performance to achieve the agreed Engineering Plan. 
Provide constructive and effective performance feedback to direct reports. 
Accept accountability for the technical accuracy of calculations and completion of programs
Liaise with engineers during the preliminary design stage and allocate layout, detail and design drafting phases to staff
Review and recommend changes to standard practices
Oversee systems for storage and retrieval of both CAD and manual drawings
Manage the Bill of materials accuracy and ensure they are up-to-date
 
Lead the mechanical discussions by defining and communicating project design specifications , statement of work, project outline budgets, risk analysis
Provide technical support for manufacturing and service engineers
Manage the team and ensure adherence to the engineering & technical standards required in the different phases
Prepare and recommend detailed financial analyses in support of the project
Lead the design team to develop and implement new product introduction plans
  
Improve the tool reliability and performance with customer input
Confirm the calculated machine and operator loads and advise management of potential bottleneck problems
Manage the schedules, labour supply and material availability to maintain an even and consistent load for manufacturing and delivery of final products

The Person
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering Mechanical design and 5years within a manufacturing environment at operations level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to efficiently and effectively meet deadlines.
