Design & Build are actively sourcing an interim Asset Engineer to work for a metropolitan council located in south west Melbourne for a period of four to six months with the opportunity of going permanent. This area is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria and is supported by one of the State’s most dynamic and progressive local authorities.  Working within the Asset Management Department, reporting directly to the Coordinator, you will be tasked with ensuring that all road, stormwater and related assets are appropriately assessed and managed using the council’s Asset Management Information System. 

Duties will include but not limited to: 

• Strategic Asset Management including; develop strategies and implement asset plans ensuring future roads and stormwater networks meet current and future requirements 
• Capital Works including; preparation of business cases for roads and stormwater networks 
• Asset Performance including; agreed levels of cyclic, periodic and programmed maintenance for the roads and stormwater networks 
• Asset Creation 
• Asset Management Information System; assess assets ensuring performance meets agreed levels 

Requirements include: 

• Ability to read plans and estimate quantities and costs for work 
• Understanding of Asset Management principles including appreciation of AMIS 
• Degree – Civil Engineering
