The current requirement is for an intermediate to senior level engineer from a structural discipline to join the very busy civil/structural team in a technical role. The position will be situated in the Melbourne office due to an overload in project requirements and internal secondment, and functionally, the entire scope of work will cross the heavy industrial division, including mining, oil & gas, energy, materials handling and heavy manufacturing divisions. The opportunities further down the track will be extensive, and a move to future projects with prestigious clients is a real possibility for those who wish to broaden their horizons.

Responsibilities may include:

• FEED, conceptual and detailed design engineering

• Finite element analysis, load calculations

• Project engineering/ management

• Optimisation and modernisation proposals and tenders

• Internal and external client liaison and interface

The successful candidate will ideally possess experience in relevant industries, the preference is in the mining or mining-related sectors. Whilst you will obviously have a high level of technical understanding, what will set you apart is your ability to appreciate the client/consultant relationship, ensure that the deliverables and results meet the desired outcomes, and the skill to continue winning assignments for the future growth of the organisation. As a highly experienced technical advisor, you will be an integral part of the team, reporting to the lead engineer. Ideally, you will also have extensive engineering consultancy experience.
