The Job This position will be responsible for growing our clients automation division by identifying and developing new business opportunities. The role will provide effective customer relationship management to key accounts and customers while generating new business opportunities. Working in the following areas of responsibility • Relationship Management • Business Development • Process and Procedural Development • Management of the Quoting and tendering process and the associated team members. • Monitoring and Reporting • Any other reasonable duties that are relevant or appropriate to this role as directed The Role • Establish and Maintain Key customer relationships in accordance with the strategic direction of the business unit. • Establish, maintain and leverage industry and government relationships enabling the business to capitalise on opportunities early in the lifecycle. • Work with customers in establishing and understanding opportunities for further works • Investigate partnering opportunities with customers and organisations that offer synergies and enable the Business Unit to strengthen its market share and profits across the industry • Manage advertising and exhibition activities in a manner that maximises the exposure of the business to prospective clients in a cost effective manner. • Work with team to ensure a systematic development and role out of processes and procedures in support of all Sales activities under the control of the position. • Work with the Automation management team to ensure the development and implementation of the associated processes and procedures are symbiotic with the alternate functional areas. • Work with the broader business Quality Manager in the development of the processes and procedures. • Develop the Quotes and Tendering team in accordance with the developed process and procedures • Ensure the Establishment and adherence to gated approval process • Establish risk templates for the utilisation and classification of acceptable risk profiles. • Management of the complete quote and tendering process and associated staff • Monitor and report on schedule performance, success rate, customer requirements and expectations • Monitor and report on resource performance The Person • Relevant business qualification (eg: management or marketing degree) • Significant experience in project management • Significant high level experience in the rail industry • The ability to build strong and effective relationships with all members of an organisation • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Financial understanding • Negotiation skills • Organisation and time management skills • Presentation skills • Attention to detail • Ability to motivate self and others The Ideal candidate will have delivered automation systems from concept through design and implementation.
