Find out a little more about Emily below…
Welcome Emily, what was it that attracted you to join Design & Build?
Initially the role itself really appealed to me; writing copy and helping to produce content has always been a favourite part of previous roles so I was excited at the chance to do this more. I’ve also never worked in the recruitment industry and had heard great things about Design & Build so thought it would be a good opportunity.
What does building trust mean to you?
I think if you’re able to treat people with kindness and respect and foster open and honest communication with them you’ll be able to build their trust.
What can we expect from you in your new role as Marketing Coordinator?
Hopefully I’ll be able to assist Karis and the team in enforcing Design & Build and Public Sector People’s perception as an industry leader and build engagement with clients and candidates through valuable content.
What would you say is your proudest accomplishment?
In my previous role I was able to develop some podcasts that went alongside certain shows the company was producing. I’d never been involved in the production side of content before and learnt so much from being able to build the podcasts and storylines from scratch in addition to promoting them. I’m also a big podcast listener so found the process pretty exciting.
What is your biggest fear?
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I love Stradbroke Island but am pretty happy anywhere near a beach.
What motivates you to work hard?
I think being part of a team helps to motivate me. Having a group of people that encourage each other to reach shared goals and celebrate wins makes me want to do my part. I can also get a little competitive, so seeing other people achieving milestones makes me more determined to achieve mine.
