Meet Amanda, our latest member of the Melbourne team and our first consultant to go through the newly launched Design & Build development program- 'Building Blocks For Success'. The program has been designed for those who are new to the recruitment industry and wanting to develop their skills, knowledge and career, while being supported and mentored by a team of experienced consultants. As Amanda commences her training, she will be working closely with the Melbourne construction team.
During her first week, we wanted to find out a little more about Amanda; what attracted her to recruitment, why she chose the Design & Build team and what she hopes to get out of her training. Read her answers below:
What was it that attracted you to a career in recruitment?
I was attracted to the role as I’ve always loved helping people achieve their goals and I feel in recruitment I can facilitate that; be the go-to person that help’s a candidate land their dream job.
What does building trust mean to you?
To me, building trust translates to being open and honest with someone from the get-go. Which is such an important part of recruitment, as you can’t build strong relationships with your candidates or clients without having that initial honesty and transparency established first.
What drew you to Design & Build and what are your goals as you grow and develop with the company?
As soon as I saw Design & Build’s website and read their values, I knew it would be a great fit. Design & Build’s commitment to their employee’s continued development and learning mean a lot to me, as I start out in my career. The emphasis they also place on doing the right thing by both their clients and candidates appealed to me as it demonstrates their dedication to their key stakeholders rather than focusing on making quick wins.
What motivates you to work hard?
Making people happy! I love and thrive off seeing people become successful and achieve their goals.
What is your biggest fear?
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right now, if I was to be realistic, I’d live in Burleigh Heads in Queensland- I love the beach and the warm weather. But if I could live absolutely anywhere, I would live in Greece on an Island (not sure where yet).
Once again, welcome to the team Amanda- we’re thrilled to have you on board and can’t wait to see what you achieve! If you’d like to find out more about Amanda and the residential construction roles she’ll be working on, you can contact her on:
