Meet Renee Hamilton, the latest team member to join the Design & Build team, working within the Sydney office. Renee will be working within our residential construction team, where she'll not only bring her extensive recruitment experience but a strong knowledge of the business support and administrative space, which she'll help to recruit for. With a big smile and positive attitude we know she's going to be a hit with clients and candidates alike and we thought her first week would be a perfect opportunity to get to know her a little better and find out what makes her tick... as a recruiter and as a person. Read on to find out!

How did you first get into recruitment?

Like many people, I fell into recruitment following a career in administration, operations & sales! I was supporting the executive team within a recruitment agency and quickly realised it was calling out for me to try it myself.

What do you like most about working in recruitment?

I love that it brings me the opportunity to meet so many different types of people and assist them in such a personal journey, which is their own careers! If that’s a small way I can make a difference, I’ll take it.

What do you hope to bring to the Design & Build Team and your new role?

I’m quite a bubbly, positive person, so I hope to bring this both to the D&B team as well as my clients & candidates.

Within the D&B team, you’ll be focusing on Residential Construction, which is a new area for you. What are you excited most about working in this space?

Within the Residential team, I’ll be focusing on business support roles in which I have a varied background myself. I’m looking forward to specialising in the construction industry which will allow me to build a wealth of knowledge and in turn becoming a trusted advisor within the sector.

What motivates you? And what is your proudest accomplishment to date? (can be professional or personal)

Holistic happiness is my biggest motivator, which is influenced by so many factors, that I could really go on about this forever! My proudest accomplishment to date (which may sound corny) is my independence!

Who is your biggest influence and why?

My biggest influence is my Nanna Irene. She was such an amazing woman with incredible strength, drive, and positivity. She accomplished so much in her life and had her fair share of struggles, but always had a big smile on her face and jokes to make! She gave endless love and taught me so much, I can only hope to be somewhat like the woman she was.

If you couldn’t be in recruitment, what would you love to do?

Easy, I’d be a popstar – think Britney Spears with a little less crazy. Dream big, right?!?

When you’re not at work where are we most likely to find you?

Probably either out having a drink and good food with the girls, at the gym, or on the couch binging tv!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hot chips, hands down. I would eat them 3x a day if I could!!

What are you currently watching/listening to/reading?

Currently binging a bit of Love Island UK – I’m late to the party which means there are multiple seasons for me to catch up on! I love a bit of trash TV – guilty pleasure for sure. I’m also listening to the Life Uncut podcast, love those girls!
