Attracting Female Talent within the Construction, Engineering and Property Industry
This problem is twofold; recruitment practices and unconscious bias that currently exists within these industries make it difficult for female professionals to be aware of job opportunities and achieve success when applying for roles. Meanwhile, the public perception that jobs within construction, engineering and property are not viable career options for women, is negatively impacting the number of female high-school and tertiary students pursuing a future career within the sector. This, then limits the future talent pool organisations within the built environment can recruit from.
