Survey Manager – Civil Construction (NSW/ACT)

Permanent Full-Time Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Survey Manager to join a leading civil construction company. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work on complex projects in the NSW/ACT region, with the first project being a challenging road infrastructure development in South-West Sydney.
Role Overview
As Survey Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all survey-related activities, collaborating closely with project engineering, design, and construction teams. You will also oversee and support the survey team, including subcontracted surveyors on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering surveys for civil construction activities
• Set up control and perform feature, level, and as-built surveys
• Perform fieldwork, calculations, data reduction, and manipulation
• Complete volume surveys for progress payments
• Carry out Progressive Quality Assurance (QA) checks
• Produce as-con plans

• Proven managerial experience leading survey crews
• Strong ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Experience mentoring and training staff to the required technical standards
• Skills in developing standard documents and training materials
• A proactive, self-starting attitude

• Tertiary qualifications in Surveying or Spatial Science
• A minimum of 10 years surveying experience, with at least 5 years in civil construction and civil set-out (experience in Defence projects is highly regarded)
• Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in the following software:
  
  • 12d Model
  • 12d Synergy
  • AutoCAD
  • Trimble Business Centre
• Extensive experience using a range of surveying field software and hardware, including:
  
  • Trimble
  • Topcon
  • Leica
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with drones and associated software is advantageous
