Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a high level Commercial Manager to join an industry leading rail contractor and be involved in the delivery of a major project in Brisbane

Ideally you will be initially based from their office in the Sydney for the project start up phase, this position will then be site based in Brisbane where you will be a key member of the leadership team and play a pivotal role in the delivery of the project

The responsibilities of the Commercial Manager are:
  • Manage the Commercial & Contractual setup & processes of projects
  • Financial & Cost reporting
  • Provide commercial & legal advice on issues associated with subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Oversee head contract administration
  • Manage claims, variations & final accounts 
  • Lead a team of competent commercial, finance & contract personnel
The requirements of the Commercial Manager are:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
  • Proven experience in working on projects within the infrastructure sector, ideally within rail
  • Sound knowledge of Australian contract forms (GC21, AS400 etc)
  • Commercially astute and excellent client management skills
  • Legal qualifications & understanding are highly regarded
  • Strong people & communications skills
