Job Description

The Role
You will join a successful rail team working on major rail projects across Australia including Freight, Metro and Light Rail. We are seeking an Overhead Wiring Construction Manager and a Senior Project Engineer to join the team and manage the delivery of an expanding portfolio of works. 

Role Responsibilities
  • Work with Project Engineers, and Superintendents within the Overhead Wiring discipline to provide technical and administrative guidance to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
  • Manage client expectations and contract requirements to ensure satisfactory completion of OHW/HV scope
  • Review designs for constructability and adherence to rail standards
  • Review project programs to ensure project scope is achievable within possession windows.
  • Work with Engineers and ‘Health Safety Environment and Quality’ team to ensure appropriate Safety, Environmental and Quality controls and documentation are in place prior and post works completion.
  • Provide accurate forecasts of costs and revenue in line with reporting frameworks and ensure all variation orders and claims are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assess, evaluate, process and submit Overhead Wiring and HV tenders through multiple clients
  • Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.
To be successful in this key role, you must have: 
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or equivalent
  • Post graduate engineering experience with 4+ years site based
  • Experience on > $50 M Projects
  • Project Engineer and operational experience
  • Advanced commercial acumen including cost reduction and meeting budgets
  • Experience in tender preparation
  • Delivery of major projects and teams to program and budget specifications
  • Understanding and implementation of the Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan and Projects Design Management Plan
