Job Description
I'm looking for a senior ecologist for a brilliant land development consultancy in Newcastle.
You will provide expert technical and strategic advice for a range of strategies, projects and issues and lead the research to deepen and further the organisations knowledge on biodiversity and ecology.
Essential skills and qualifications;
- Qualification in Ecology, Biodiversity or equivalent
- Professional experience in ecological management role or looking to step up into a more senior role
- Solid experience with community consultation and working with diverse communities
- Experienced in project management with ability to manage multiple, competing and complex tasks
- Proven experience to direct and manage contractors, consultants and staff
- Experience in the application of the Biodiversity Assessment Method (accreditation not essential but will be viewed favourably) and preparation of Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports
- Experience in Biodiversity Offset Scheme.
- Strong communication skills, and a demonstrated high standard of report writing abilities
- Knowledge of GIS software.
- You will be using the latest technologies employed in ecological surveys and monitoring.

- Supportive senior management
- Work across a wide range of projects, including environmental assessments, conservation, research projects, pest management and environmental monitoring across a wide range of ecosystems.
