Job Description

Environmental Advisor required to join a Civil Contractor known for delivering multi-disciplined projects across Victoria and New South Wales. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to see out an 18-month project down in Goulburn, NSW. 

Our client has recently been awarded a major civil works package on a renewables project and it is their first major contract that has been awarded in New South Wales. They have been established in Melbourne for over 10 years and deliver projects up to $150M. 

As the Environmental Advisor you will be responsible for:
  • Undertaking risk assessments across all areas of the business and coordinate implementation of control measures
  • Develop and facilitate environmental policies 
  • Based on-site to ensure safety and environment processes are being implemented
  • Liaising with the EPA and local authorities
  • Soil reporting and heritage land management
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure consistent compliance within the operation
  • Act in a manner that seeks to enhance the environmental culture
  • Ensure that the business can operate with confidence accounting for risk by assisting in the coordination and maintenance of the site risk management function, including completion of reviews in a timely manner
To be considered for the position of Environmental Advisor you will require:
  • Degree or Diploma in Environmental Studies (Science)
  • Heritage land experience 
  • Direct experience working on a mining infrastructure projects
  • Stakeholder management experience 
  • Minimum 2 years' local experience
  • Site-based experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and application or relevant legislation
