Job Description

Due to continued growth my client is currently looking for an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join their New South Wales business unit to assist in the delivery of various civil infrastructure projects across the state. The successful candidate will be required to provide support for the successful planning of project’s environmental requirements, the development of the environmental management system and the measurement of environmental compliance.
  
What we are seeking:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in environmental management on road construction works or equivalent works
  • Strong understanding of NSW environmental legislation
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
  • Demonstrated training and experience in Blue Books 1 & 2D Erosion and Sedimentation Control
  • Someone who has the ability to build effective working relationships onsite
  • Someone who thrives in a fast paced, ever evolving environment
  • Be comfortable managing competing demands
  • Confident and an excellent communicator
  • Able to build rapport with people at all levels of the organisation
What to expect in this role:
  • Support Projects in the development and implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan
  • Development of environmental procedures and systems that support Project/facility needs
  • Lead investigations into significant environmental incidents
  • Monitor and facilitate the closeout of environmental issues
  • Provide specialist advice on environmental aspects such as noise, vibration, air quality, water quality, soil management, heritage and ecology
  • Apply for and manage any required environmental permits and approvals
  • Provide project team with awareness of legal compliance requirements
  • Record all relevant environmental data and compile reports for both internal and external stakeholders
