Job Description

Estimator | Insurance Building Repair | $80K - $110K + super

Join a leading building insurance specialist boasting over 15 years of experience in the Sydney market. As a business they work with a lot of Australia's major insurance companies and have completed over 24,000 jobs dealing with both domestic and commercial building repairs.

Services include insurance claims, emergency repairs, restoration & cleaning, residential and commercial construction, prestige buildings and retail fit out.
They are now looking for an Estimator to work on a diverse range of projects.

The role:
  • Writing building insurance assessment reports for insurance companies
  • Estimating for building re-instatement works
  • Working with supervisors to achieve set budgets
  • Procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Liaising between both insured's and insurers
  • Dispute/issue resolution as required
  • Ensure all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements
  • Ensure all inspections, certificates of final inspection from Building Surveyor and all relevant documentation is signed off
  • Completion of risk assessments 
The requirements:
  • Extensive experience as a qualified carpenter, or within a similar estimating role
  • Trade certificates in building or a related discipline
  • Certificate or Diploma in Building
  • Prior experience or an understanding of the insurance building industry preferred, however not essential
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be empathetic to the needs of the client
  • Be familiar with OHS practices, legislation and regulations and familiar with current market and rates/trades
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Current and valid driving license
