Job Description

National Tier 2 construction company with over 40 years of experience, employing over 600 employees nationwide. With projects across all sectors including industrial, commercial, retail, education, health, residential and aged care they can cater to any requirement.

Our client is looking for a State Health and Safety Manager to join their expanding New South Wales Business Unit.

The role:
  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, communication, engagement and evaluation of the HSE and operational systems
  • Assist in the recruitment, retention and management of HSE personnel involved in the delivery of Projects
  • Lead investigations into serious incidents, and learnings/actions for prevention of re-occurrence are applied and communicated within the Company
  • Review all high potential and major incidents and evaluate the appropriateness of the corrective actions and providing feedback as necessary to the stakeholders
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of HSE tendering documentation Develops strong internal relationships with functional and operational leaders to engender a united vision and support for HSE
  • Builds company branding by collaborating with clients, government, community organizations, and employees
Requirements 
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience as a HSE leader, preferably within the construction industry
  • Occupational Health and Safety Qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to influence, motivate and guide others
  • High level of knowledge of contemporary HSE practices and thorough knowledge of WHS regulations
