Job Description

Design & Build are currently working with an Australian owned and operated civil contractor based in Melbourne to identify a HSE advisor to join on a permanent basis. You will be joining an excellent company who are industry leaders in the construction of pipelines, drainage and water infrastructure.

About the Role
- Monitoring and supporting the safety function under the guidance of our Safety Manager
- Providing support and coordination of safety practices, systems, and procedures across our projects and haulage division
- Monitoring compliance with the certified Integrated Management System (IMS) through site and team inspections, supporting all teams to understand and imbed our practices into their daily roles
- Reviewing and cross-referencing monthly reports generated from site teams
Assisting in the management and maintenance of the Asset and Plant Maintenance System
- Assisting in the management and maintenance of the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Heavy Vehicle System
- Assisting in certification and re-certification audits for ISO 45001, AS-NZS 4801, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, along with our ALC Master Code Auditing Service (AMCAS) certificate

About You

To be successful you will ideally have the following experience and capabilities:

- Ability to focus and work autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent time management, organisation, and administration skills
- Understanding (or willingness to learn) about Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and National Heavy Vehicle requirements
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent
- Safety Auditor qualification and ICAM Investigation qualification
- Civil construction experience preferred, but not essential
- Experience auditing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on performance compliance and corrective actions
