Job Description

My client  is looking for a highly experienced Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator based out of their Sydney office in Auburn.  This role will form a critical part of our HSEQ Team responsible for HSE oversight on all of their Civil Projects in the Sydney Region. 
  
About the role:
This challenging and dynamic role will see you being instrumental in monitoring and assisting with implementation of the Integrated Management System, while providing specialist HSE advice and influencing positive behaviors on our projects in the Sydney Region. This is an active role that requires the candidate to possess experience across Civil Infrastructure ideally with exposure to earthworks, subdivision and/or RMS work. In return for this level of skill, we can offer a position that will give you the necessary support and autonomy to assist with the driving of an excellent HSE culture across our projects and the business as a whole. 
  
To be considered you will have:
Mandatory:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent);
  • Experience with incident investigation (ideally ICAM or Taproot);
  • Extensive in-field experience working in similar Civil construction, Mining and RMS works
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with managers, executive and staff to achieve business outcomes;
  • Current Driver’s License;
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent);
  • Subcontractor management experience;
  • Experience in maintaining systems in accordance with AS4801
  • Experienced in conflict resolution;
  • Competent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to problem solve and assist with making practical decisions in a high stress environment;
  • Ability to consult and influence throughout all levels of the organisation;
  • Ability to interpret legislation and related standards;
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and be on call, and
  • Experience influencing HSEQ Behaviors throughout all levels of the organisation
Preferable:
  • Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems);
  • Qualifications/Experience in Risk Management Processes or similar;
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessing
