A Melbourne builder is partnering with me exclusively to resource for an experienced HSEQ Manager to join the business, to work alongside the leadership team offering best council to the Managing Director and construction team related to QHSE & Systems.

In accordance with the vision, mission and values of the company the “Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager” is responsible for the development, implementation, continual assessment and review of a comprehensive Integrated Management System (IMS) which facilitates operations and demonstrates their commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, environmental, operation and quality control in our workplace and organization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Review, update, further develop and maintain the existing Integrated Management System (IMS) and associated procedures, to provide a streamlined system of approved Company Policies and Procedures.

Provide Induction, staff training, direction and monitoring for compliance in the use of the IMS, ensuring all employees are trained and follow IMS policies and procedures. This includes carrying out relative training sessions as required.

To manage a competency, register of all employees and assist in determining training that is required for all tasks undertaken by company employees that complement the full management system.

Monitoring and assessing health, safety, and environmental management strategies in accordance with legislative and standards changes and implementing new initiatives where required.

Coordinate research, development, approval and implementation of Policies, Procedures, and incorporation into the IMS.

Conduct periodic Office and Site-based reviews for IMS compliance.

Analysing and benchmarking review data and usage of the IMS to identify opportunities for improvement and managing current and emerging deficiencies.

Foster and develop a Quality, HS&E, Operational systematic approach Culture across the organisation.
Management of the IMS Master Documentation to ensure its integrity and availability via electronic format for all staff to access and use.

Assessing current Operational Procedures, Administrative Processes and Procedures and templates to ensure a streamlined consistent template system for all employees to use.
Other duties as directed by the General Manager, commensurate with knowledge and training.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Cert IV in OH&S (Diploma desirable)
  • Currently in a senior role - with the proven success of being in a leadership role
  • Significant experience within Commercial Construction with a builder (5+ years)
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to influence, motivate and guide others
