About the company 
This global engineering consultancy provide innovative advisory services to government organisations, companies and project teams in rail, road and tunnel operation and maintenance, built environment, defence and utilities. They are a key player in construction engineering and mobility services with numerous successful projects on all continents (maybe not Antarctica) from preliminary design of public transport systems through to commissioning and handover to client. 

About the role 
 You will work on engineering design and production review, from feasibility to detailed design phases, production surveillance and test witnessing, including but not limited to:
  • Traction Power architecture - DC voltage and AC Voltage
  • High Voltage power supply architecture and load flow studies
  • Connection points to public power supplier – Harmonics and flickers studies
  • Protection selectivity and settings studies
  • Stray Current Management and Earthing & Bonding Schemes
  • Cable dimensioning, power rating
  • Power supply equipment detailed specifications
  
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Review design submissions for compliance with contract requirements and national/international standards
  • Participate in design review meetings
  • Perform surveillance and witnessing activities
  • Assisting on punctual basis power supply experts and project managers in their duties
  • Providing support to the national rail lead in the preparation of tender responses
  • Participating in internal working groups to promote continuous improvement and innovation in technical expertise and service delivery.
You will be supported by Egis engineers and experts in Australia and overseas.

About you 
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical or Electrotechnics Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 2 - 8 years experience
  • Trades experience in power distribution or similar is not essential but will be highly valued
  • RPEQ is not essential but will be highly valued.
