Job Description

Design & Build are seeking a Superintendent for a leading Australian Based Mining Producer & Developer  Ideally we are looking for a professional with experience of managing open cut coal operations in a contract mining environment.

You should have experience in the NSW market and a proven background of managing project resources. This is an on-site opportunity and excellent leadership and negotiation skills are paramount.

Key responsibilities of the Superintendent will include:
  • Safely and effectively lead the production teams to meet waste and coal targets in the Open Cut.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of supervisory requirements, both legislative and site.
  • Being directly responsible for contract performance on site
  • Meeting production targets in a safe manner 
  • Setting, managing and delivering on KPI targets
  • Management and leadership of teams
To succeed in the Superintendent you will need
  • Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency. 
  • Substantial supervisory experience in Open Cut Mining (10 + years)
  • Excellent planning, coordination and ability to interpret data.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory laws and regulations governing open cut/underground mines.
  • Very good interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skill
