The Company 
You will be joining a global engineering and project management consultancy who are establishing themselves as a key services provider across Australia in a number of sectors including infrastructure, Rail, Defence and Built Environment. The Role 
Joining the Melbourne team you will focus on working across Defence infrastructure and systems and process development projects. You will also have plenty of opportunity to work across other sectors and in roles that will lead to a diverse position. Project management services cover all phases of the project life-cycle including: needs analysis; feasibility studies and options analysis; business case and economic assessments; development of project briefs; planning and design management, procurement, construction administration; commissioning and handover, and asset management. Project managers are not expected to have experience working across all areas of our service offering, but should understand each of them and how they contribute to successful project delivery.

About you
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly and confidently, be able to prepare meaningful written reports, possess excellent people and analytical skills and be able to work autonomously and in a dynamic team environment. The role will involve work on client sites and company offices with potential opportunities to travel in Victoria and to support projects across Australia. The ability to form robust, constructive and sustainable professional relationships that support business outcomes, client satisfaction and business growth, is essential.

  • 5+ years of project management experience ideally with experience in the defence sector or relatable engineering industries; 

  • The ability to obtain basic security clearance; 

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, as well as analytical thinking, clear judgement and reasoned decision making;

  • Stakeholder management and relationship building skills;

  • Experience with different Australian Standard forms of contract conditions – fully-documented; design development and construct; design and construct. 

  • Formal post-graduate qualifications/certification in Project Management would be very highly regarded.
