Job Description

Design and Build are working on behalf of our client, to recruit and experienced QHSE Manager to develop, implement and assess the internal safety systems within the business and maintain high standards of safety, environment, operation and quality control. 

The client is tier 3 builder who specialize in projects from $5-12M within the government market, including schools, pavilions and community centers. 

The role 
The QHSE manager is responsible for:
  • Review update, further develop and maintain the existing systems and associated procedures, to provide a streamlined system of approved
    Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Audit projects for QHSE compliance of systems and education and mentoring to all users within the company.
  • Develop best practices that compliments the management of the company and assist in the compilation of a new integrated management system and managing the process to full accreditation
    to all relative ISO and Australian Standards for Quality, Health and safety and Environment.
  • Provide induction, staff training, direction and auditing for compliance. 
  • Monitoring and assessing health, safety and environmental management strategies in accordance with legislation
  • Coordinate research, development, approval and implementation of Policies, Procedures and incorporation into systems 
  • Conduct periodic office and site based reviews for compliance.
  • Analysing and benchmarking, reviewing data to identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Foster and develop a Quality, HS&E, Operational systematic approach culture across the organization, leading by example.
  • Management of the systems to ensure its integrity and availability via electronic format for all staff to access and use.
  • Assessing all systems, procedures and templates to ensure a streamlined consistent template platform for all employees to use.
Your background =
  • 2+ year's experience in an OHS manager role within construction 
  • Experience developing and integrating safety systems through ISO accreditation (ESSENTIAL) 
  • Qualification in OH&S (cert IV above) 
  • Passionate about safety, and able to influence and educate others. 
  • Background within commercial or civil infrastructure highly regarded.
