Job Description

An opportunity has opened up with a national- wide design and build firm as a Senior Interior Designer. Our clients specialize in creating sustainable and functional workplace, they are on the lookout for someone that shares the same passion. Due to the success of their new office located in Brisbane, they are wanting to grow their close- knit team. This opportunity will offer you the experience to be hands on, part of the design strategy decisions, drive project outcomes – rather than just being a number in a team. 
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead creative projects, pitching and work alongside the Project Management team, checking-in with the Design Director throughout the process for vision and awareness
  • Manage the design process ensuring designs are accurate and precise and in line with client objectives.
  • Develop designs that suit both the client and the characteristics of a building or space
  • Manage the preparation of all design submissions and documentation, coordinating with the Design Director as and when additional design support may be required
  • Once construction commences, responsible for proactively managing and executing design changes effectively always protecting the clients’ and firms’ commercial interest
  • Manage the preparation of all design submissions
  • Meeting with clients and other tradespeople.
  • Developing designs according to a brief that are functional, appealing and appropriate for the space
  • Using design software to create floor plans, 3D models, visuals and presentation submissions
  • Managing timelines for furniture/material supply to ensure program commitments are achievable
  • Ensure all designs proposed are compliant and work towards ‘best practice’

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Senior designer with at least 8 years experience
  • Experience in all aspects of the project – concept design / documentation/ on site collaboration with trades & PM
  • Exposure to or interest in Workplace Strategy is advantageous
  • excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • strong ability to work on multiple projects at one time
  • ability to manage own performance and work autonomously
  • creativity, imagination and artistic flair
  • strong communication and listening skills
  • good colour sense and an eye for detail
  • an aptitude for illustration and technical drawing
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • an understanding of building construction
  • presentation confidence and skill
  • proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite
