Job Description

Well established Engineering Consultancy who have been in the industry for 80 years are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join their business working across projects from  hospitals, aged care facilities, schools, universities, colleges, prisons, parks, civic buildings, industrial and aviation facilities.

About the position of Senior / Principal Structural Engineer:
  • Responsible for the day to day management of your business units engineering projects to ensure timely and professional delivery in accordance with client requirements
  • Support the Operations Director in the management and growth of the business, be on the lookout for potential business opportunities
  • Monthly reporting to the Management meeting of your business units progress and achievements
  • Collaborate with Drafters and Engineers to ensure projects achieve planned levels of profitability and product quality
  • Participate in regular internal operational meetings
  • Actively participate in the growth of the business by identifying
    and promoting new business, soliciting and managing client
    instructions
Requirements of Senior / Principal Structural Engineer:
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural engineering
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards & BCA's
  • Effective project management skills, ie multi tasking, prioritisation, time management as well as client management 
  • 10+ years engineering experience
  • Experience working on Rail or Defence projects would be highly regarded 
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare tender documentation and cognisant of costs associated to meet profit expectations
