Job Description

Design and Build have partnered with an up-and-coming Engineering Consultancy within the Building Structures sector in Australia. They specialise in the delivery of industrial projects including warehouse and distribution centres.

They are seeking to add an ambitious Senior Structural Engineer to their team who can grow and develop with them.

You will join a young and dynamic company reporting to the directors who are based in Sydney and have access to a drafting and admin support team. You will initially be in an autonomous role, working from home as you deliver projects to a current client based in Melbourne.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer will include:
  • Working closely with clients through continual liaison from conception to completion.
  • Deliver technically accurate, cost effective and optimum designs that address client objectives and expectations
  • Increasing brand awareness of the organisation to drive project growth using your network and market knowledge
  • Undertake strategic and speculative client meetings regarding projects and client relationship
  • Forming successful working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including company executives, engineering & technical staff, clients and client staff and cross sector / discipline leaders.
  • Manage the selection and securing of bid & project
  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and advice to other engineers in the company and to client staff
To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Degree level accredited qualifications in a relevant Engineering field
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and delivery of structural industrial projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills
  • Strong local network in Victorian building and construction market.
  • Strong technical capability & understanding to ensure quality service delivery
  • Preferably you will be recognised as a Chartered Engineer. NER or RBP
