Job Description

The company 
Join a leading engineering consultancy who can offer fantastic opportunities to further develop your skills and experience on major rail infrastructure projects in the field of Systems and Safety Assurance. You will join a team of experts in the field who specialise in integration of systems and software engineering including Human Factors and system safety.

The role 
As Senior consultant you develop and deliver services using advanced systems engineering practices. You will be responsible for the management andl delivery of projects to clients.
  • Appropriate application for client’s System Engineering & Safety Management processes and tools scaled for the services or required project.
  • Deploy Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance processes on projects, in accordance with client requirements, Project’s relevant standards (CENELEC, IEC, etc.)
  • Produce / lead the production of Safety Assurance Plans, Safety Analyses, Hazard Logs, Safety Reports and other applicable deliverables to deliver upon operational safety arguments.
  • Build the System Safety Case, integrating the Safety Cases of the associated products and/ or generic applications, and ensure its completeness and acceptance.
  • Establish systems engineering and safety assurance processes for clients as part of advisory services.
  • Develop, review and/or check deliverables required for the services.
  • Facilitate workshops and other activities required to deliver the contracted services.
About you
  • Minimum five years or similar number of years’ experience in relevant industry / discipline
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Relevant experience working within Safety Assurance in a rail environment (Rolling stock, Signalling, Rail Infrastructure preferred)
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills
  • Relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • An understanding of management processes.
  • Desirable to have (or want to develop) subject matter expertise in at least one of the following:
Systems Safety/Safety Assurance 
Systems Engineering 
Requirements Management, Verification and Validation
Human Factors 
RAM
