Job Description

Our client are a leading Australian-owned builder with a large pipeline of work in Sydney Metro and are looking to expand their experienced Health & Safety team. 

This WHSE Supervisor role is a site based role, located on projects with values of $50 - $200 Million. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door with a reputable Tier 2 builder. 

  • Overall implementation / coordination of WHSE Management System 
  • Provide ongoing education / mentoring to staff on their WHSE responsibilities / functions 
  • Facilitate consultation in workplace WHSE including, where required, setting up safety committees on site; daily pre-starts; internal / external toolbox meetings etc)
  • Provide advice, strategies and problem solving to site and project personnel on all health, safety and environmental matters.
  • Take the lead role in investigation of injuries, incidents and near miss events, including recommending improvements at both a site level and corporate improvements.
  • Be point of contact for all staff as well as government bodies in relation to health and safety procedures, standards and compliance. This includes changes to work practices, procedures or equipment.

The ideal candidate will hold the following: 
  • Minimum Cert IV in WHS
  • Experience working on projects $30M+ is advantageous 
  • Strong understanding of latest OH&S legislation
  • Well organized with a high attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage deadlines
  • Time management skills
  • Excellent communication & problem solving skills
