Join a leading Australian construction company in a hands-on Finance Officer role, supporting a busy finance team across accounts payable, reconciliations and financial administration.
The Opportunity
Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Australian construction and property development company to recruit an experienced Finance Officer on a contract basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable business with a strong presence in the construction industry, supporting the day-to-day finance operations across a range of projects.
We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and confident managing high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
- Match invoices against purchase orders and investigate discrepancies.
- Complete supplier statement reconciliations and manage outstanding queries.
- Assist with weekly payment runs, EFT payments and general accounts payable activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support GST/PAYG compliance.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, month-end reporting and general finance administration.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Officer, Finance Officer or Accounts Payable position.
- Experience within construction, engineering, property or a similar project-based environment will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, invoice matching and reconciliations.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems, with strong Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Available to commence a contract opportunity within a reasonable timeframe
