A leading workplace design studio is seeking an experienced Associate Designer to join its Melbourne team on a 12-month fixed-term basis with the potential to turn into a permanent position.
This role suits a senior interior designer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading design outcomes, and working closely with clients and delivery teams to create high-quality, contemporary workplace environments.
The role:
- Take a lead role on corporate workplace projects from early concept through to handover
- Partner with clients to translate business needs into considered, functional design solutions
- Manage design programmes, budgets, and consultant coordination
- Work closely with construction and delivery teams to ensure design intent is maintained
- Provide guidance and direction to junior designers
- Prepare and review detailed documentation, FF&E schedules, and specifications
- Attend site, respond to RFIs, and assist with contract administration
- Contribute to the ongoing development of design processes and standards
- 10+ years’ experience in interior design or architecture, ideally within workplace or commercial interiors
- Demonstrated experience operating at Associate or Senior Associate level
- Strong technical capability and confidence delivering detailed documentation
- Advanced Revit skills
- Comfortable managing client relationships and project teams
- Solid understanding of Australian codes, consultant coordination, and construction processes
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Interior Design or Architecture
