As Bid Manager, you will be responsible for managing Expressions of Interest (EOIs), tenders, pre-qualifications, and other business development submissions across the organisation. You will focus on overarching commercial and operational strategy for the business, ideally with a technical background to support. You will collaborate closely with estimating, operations, project delivery, and executive teams to develop winning strategies and produce professional submissions that strengthen our market position.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full tender lifecycle from opportunity identification through to submission and post-tender activities.
- Lead tender planning meetings and develop submission strategies, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Coordinate contributions from estimating, project, commercial, HSEQ, and operational teams.
- Prepare, write, edit, and review high-quality tender and EOI responses.
- Ensure all submissions are compliant, compelling, and delivered on time.
- Manage tender schedules, bid programmes, registers, and reporting processes.
- Maintain and continuously improve tender templates, capability statements, project profiles, and supporting documentation.
- Lead and coordinate participation in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and collaborative procurement processes.
- Work closely with clients, designers, consultants, and key stakeholders during project development phases to help shape practical and cost-effective delivery solutions.
About You
- 5+ years' experience in bid management, submissions management, business development, or a similar role within the civil construction, infrastructure, engineering, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of managing successful tender submissions.
- Exceptional written communication and document management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM systems, tender portals, and document management platforms.
- Knowledge of civil infrastructure projects and delivery methodologies will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools and the ability to critically review outputs
