This is a broad role, split across project delivery and design support, working on some of the more complex water and wastewater infrastructure being built in the region right now.
The Role
Working closely with the Head of Engineering and multidisciplinary project teams, you'll take ownership of civil and structural design from proposal through to construction. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing preliminary and detailed civil and structural designs for water treatment, wastewater and waste management projects
- Developing site plans, grading and drainage layouts, structural layouts and general arrangement drawings
- Conducting geotechnical assessments and integrating findings into foundation and structural design
- Performing structural analysis of tanks, foundations, buildings, pipe supports and retaining structures
- Preparing BOQs, cost estimates and engineer's estimates
- Supporting construction teams with design queries, NCRs and site technical clarifications
- Coordinating across process, mechanical and electrical disciplines to align design requirements
- Managing design schedules, change processes and quality compliance throughout project execution
You'll bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering and professional registration
- 5 to 7 years of experience in civil and structural design, ideally across water treatment plants, wastewater facilities or pumping stations
- Proficiency with CAD tools including Civil 3D and STAAD
- Strong working knowledge of Australian standards and relevant international codes
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to work autonomously when needed
