ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is delivering one of Victoria’s most significant $3B infrastructure programs. a complex, large-scale project with major commercial, contractual and delivery components. They are seeking an experienced Contracts/Commercial Manager
to join the senior leadership team, providing strategic oversight across all commercial and contractual functions.
POSITION PURPOSE
Provide commercial and project management leadership and support services to the Project Management team on a $3B major project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
Commercial & Contract Management
- Work with the Project Director to manage the contractual and financial aspects of the $3B project.
- Collaborate with client consultants and internal team members, including legal and program advisors, to establish and manage a sound contractual framework.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration, management, and application of contract terms and requirements.
- Monitor and report on contractor performance against contractual obligations, highlighting foreseeable or current issues requiring action by the Principal or others.
- Work with the Programmer, Legal Adviser and other Specialist Advisers to establish the project controls framework to monitor project performance.
- Administer the tender process from evaluation through to award.
- Support the Project Director and Delivery Lead Project Manager in commercial negotiations with tenderers and the preferred contractor.
- Provide guidance and advice to Project Managers managing Early Works and Preliminary Works Contracts.
- Lead and support project teams as part of the Senior Management Team, ensuring high quality, utilisation, and performance.
- Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor (WT Partnership) in reviewing and providing input on monthly financial statements.
- Establish business processes and systems aligned with Quality Assurance requirements.
- Support the expansion of the company’s services with existing clients.
- Build and strengthen relationships with project partners and strategic consultants to generate repeat business and identify new opportunities.
- Lead initiatives that drive continual improvement of services, processes, and systems.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic and marketing plans.
- Actively demonstrate behaviours consistent with company values at all times.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably expected of a Commercial Manager.
