As the business continues to grow, they're looking to appoint their first dedicated HSEQ professional to establish and lead the company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality function.
This isn't a role where you'll inherit an existing system—you'll have the opportunity to build it.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll develop practical HSEQ processes and procedures, implement systems across the business, and help embed a positive safety culture that supports both project delivery and long-term growth.
Initially, the position will focus on developing and implementing the company's HSEQ framework. As the business evolves, the role will become a balanced mix of office-based systems management and site support across active commercial projects.
We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships just as much as building systems—someone who can influence operational teams, provide practical advice, and become a trusted advisor across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve the company's HSEQ Management System.
- Establish practical policies, procedures, templates and compliance processes.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace observations across commercial construction projects.
- Support Project Managers and Site Supervisors with risk assessments, SWMS, investigations and corrective actions.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and engagement with site teams.
- Monitor legislative compliance and ensure company obligations are consistently met.
- Lead incident investigations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop HSEQ reporting and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure HSEQ is embedded into day-to-day operations.
- Minimum 4+ years' experience in a HSEQ role within commercial construction.
- Previous experience developing or implementing HSEQ systems and procedures is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction compliance requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously while building strong relationships across all levels of the business.
- Practical, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
- Confident influencing Project Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors.
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety as a minimum (Diploma or higher advantageous).
- $150,000–$170,000 + Super.
- Opportunity to establish and shape the HSEQ function from the ground up.
- Direct access to senior leadership with genuine influence across the business.
- Autonomous role with long-term career growth.
- Diverse commercial construction projects across Perth.
- Join a growing business committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
