This role is ideally suited to an ambitious Construction Manager looking to take the next step in their career with a business committed to long-term growth in the Sydney market.

The role
Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the successful delivery of a complex civil infrastructure program involving major roadworks, structures, drainage, utilities and associated infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a high-performing project team while working closely with a tier-one government client on a landmark infrastructure program with a strong pipeline of future work.
As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading all construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities across major civil infrastructure projects.
  • Build, mentor and develop a high-performing project delivery team.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all WHS, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Manage subcontractors and direct workforce to achieve programme and productivity targets.
  • Work closely with the Project Director to deliver commercial, financial and operational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with contractual obligations, specifications and client expectations.
  • Oversee planning, resource allocation, procurement and construction sequencing.
  • Foster collaboration across engineering, commercial and site teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant contractor-side experience delivering civil infrastructure projects within Tier 1 or Tier 2 environments.
  • Proven experience managing road and transport infrastructure projects valued between $25M and $100M.
  • Strong understanding of Transport for NSW standards and specifications.
  • Experience administering projects under GC21 contracts is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated capability managing subcontractors, direct labour and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, procurement and project performance.
  • Excellent planning, programming and construction management skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Established knowledge of the Sydney civil construction market and subcontractor network is highly desirable.
