An established commercial construction business is looking for an experienced Contract Administrator to join its growing Canberra team.
Working across a mix of fit out, refurbishment and new build projects, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved from procurement through to final accounts and wants to work in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment.
The Role
You will work closely with the Project Manager and site team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Typical projects range from commercial fit outs through to larger construction works across Canberra.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and administering head contracts and subcontracts
- Letting and negotiating subcontract packages
- Preparing scopes of work and procurement schedules
- Managing variations, progress claims and payment schedules
- Reviewing and processing subcontractor claims
- Assisting with project forecasting, budgeting and cost reporting
- Tracking project costs and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Supporting the delivery team through to practical completion and final accounts
- 3+ years’ experience as a Contract Administrator within commercial construction
- Experience working on fit out, refurbishment or new build projects
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across several projects
- Proficiency with construction management and project software
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar
