A well-established and highly regarded commercial construction company is looking for an Experienced Contracts Administrator to join its Canberra team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Contracts Administrator with 4+ years' experience who is looking to take ownership of the commercial and contractual side of projects while working closely with an experienced Senior Project Manager.

You’ll be an integral part of the project team, supporting the successful delivery of high-quality commercial construction and fit-out projects across Canberra.

The Role
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial and contractual administration of your projects, including:
  • Managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account
  • Preparing, reviewing and administering subcontractor contracts
  • Managing variations, progress claims, extensions of time and contractual correspondence
  • Assisting with project budgets, cost reporting and forecasting
  • Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor claims
  • Managing project documentation and contractual obligations
  • Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, Site Manager, consultants and subcontractors
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting the project from procurement through to completion
  • Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and key stakeholders
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Contracts Administrator within commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and subcontract administration
  • Experience managing variations, claims, EOTs and progress payments
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously
  • A relevant construction, quantity surveying or commercial qualification is advantageous
  • Must have the right to work in Australia
