Due to continued growth and successful project wins, they are seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to lead commercial operations across multiple projects in the Defence space.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in project delivery while mentoring junior team members and contributing to commercial strategy and execution.
Your Role:
As a Senior Contracts Administrator, you will take ownership of all contractual and financial aspects of project delivery, from procurement through to final accounts. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to ensure project performance is commercially sound and compliant with Defence requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the full lifecycle of head and subcontract agreements, including negotiation, execution, and administration.
- Prepare, assess, and manage progress claims, variations, EOTs, and final accounts.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met in line with project timelines and quality standards.
- Lead procurement strategies and negotiate favourable terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and risk registers.
- Support project reporting and provide commercial advice to internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior Contract Administrators and site-based staff.
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and Defence representatives to maintain strong working relationships.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4–6 years’ experience as a Contracts Administrator, with recent experience at a senior level.
- Proven track record working on complex government or Defence sector projects.
- Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar.
- Australian Citizenship is essential – candidates must be eligible to obtain Defence security clearance
