Opportunity for Contracts / Procurement Specialist to join a Tier 1 contractor on a 6+ month contract, supporting projects during the tender phase.
This is a fantastic opportunity to embed yourself within a strategic bid environment, working closely with the Bid Coordination Manager and senior leadership on a high-profile projects, across Australia.
As the Contracts / Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for the procurement and engagement of external consultants and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) critical to the bid's success.
Key responsibilities of the Contracts Administrator include:
- Early involvement in the development of the Bid Budget
- Identifying external Consultants and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the bid
- Engaging with SMEs to understand availability, day rates and securing official offers
- Engaging with alternative SMEs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with current market rates
- Feeding market intelligence back to the Bid Team to support decision-making
- Maintaining a comprehensive register of SMEs
- Issuing and managing Consultant Agreements with preferred/selected SMEs
- Managing Contract Departures and negotiation of commercial terms
- Registering and qualifying SMEs within internal systems
- Ad hoc procurement and commercial support as required
- 3–5 years' experience in a Procurement, Contracts Administration or Contracts Specialist role
- Background within construction, infrastructure, engineering or a related Tier 1 / Tier 2 environment highly regarded
- Experience engaging consultants, SMEs or subcontractors, including reviewing commercial terms and managing contract departures
- Strong understanding of consultant agreements and standard commercial frameworks
- Sound commercial acumen and the ability to assess market rates
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced bid environment
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable)
