- Develop and implement cost control processes and procedures to effectively monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to establish accurate project budgets and financial forecasts, taking into account various cost drivers and potential risks.
- Analyze project costs, variances, and trends to identify areas of improvement and provide insightful recommendations for cost optimization.
- Prepare regular financial reports, including cost performance analyses, cash flow projections, and cost forecasts, to keep project stakeholders informed and enable informed decision-making.
- Assess and quantify the financial impact of project changes, scope variations, and contract amendments, ensuring proper documentation and communication of cost implications.
- Identify potential financial risks and opportunities, proactively suggesting mitigation strategies to minimize project cost overruns and enhance profitability.
- Work closely with project teams, procurement, and finance departments to ensure seamless coordination, accurate cost tracking, and timely invoicing and payment processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies, maintaining accurate and auditable cost records.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, cost control methodologies, and emerging trends, seeking opportunities to enhance cost control processes and contribute to the division's overall success.
- Proven experience in cost control or financial management within the industrial sector, ideally with exposure to power generation, oil, and gas projects.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and develop accurate forecasts.
- Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
