As a Cost Controller within the Industrial Division, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of industrial projects, particularly in the areas of power generation, oil, and gas.

You will play a pivotal role in monitoring and controlling project costs, analyzing financial data, and providing accurate and timely reporting to project stakeholders. Your expertise will ensure that projects are executed within budgetary constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cost control processes and procedures to effectively monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to establish accurate project budgets and financial forecasts, taking into account various cost drivers and potential risks.
  • Analyze project costs, variances, and trends to identify areas of improvement and provide insightful recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, including cost performance analyses, cash flow projections, and cost forecasts, to keep project stakeholders informed and enable informed decision-making.
  • Assess and quantify the financial impact of project changes, scope variations, and contract amendments, ensuring proper documentation and communication of cost implications.
  • Identify potential financial risks and opportunities, proactively suggesting mitigation strategies to minimize project cost overruns and enhance profitability.
  • Work closely with project teams, procurement, and finance departments to ensure seamless coordination, accurate cost tracking, and timely invoicing and payment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies, maintaining accurate and auditable cost records.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, cost control methodologies, and emerging trends, seeking opportunities to enhance cost control processes and contribute to the division's overall success.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in cost control or financial management within the industrial sector, ideally with exposure to power generation, oil, and gas projects.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and develop accurate forecasts.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, accounting standards, and project management methodologies.
  • Proactive mindset, problem-solving abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
