An opportunity has become available for an experienced Design Manager with an Architectural background to join a Brisbane based Property Developer known for delivering large, luxury and resort-style residential developments with an emphasis on sustainability and enduring urban design.
This role is ideal for someone who still thinks like an architect. You're naturally curious, enjoy interrogating complex design challenges, and ready to step into development, or recently made that move and want to work at a larger scale.
The Role:
Managing the design process across multiple disciplines, ensuring the project's architectural ambition is maintained while balancing commercial, technical and construction outcomes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams to resolve technical and design issues.
- Review and challenge design outcomes to ensure they align with the developers principles and project vision.
- Contribute to design reviews, approvals and key project milestones.
- Work closely with the in-house construction team to ensure design intent is successfully realised on site.
- Identify project risks and facilitate practical, high-quality solutions.
- Balance architectural excellence with buildability, cost, programme and commercial objectives.
To Be Successful:
- A registered architect or design manager, with at least 8 years of experience across design practice and/or development
- Experience in high density mixed use / residential is preferred
- Knowledge of QLD development and planning environment is desirable but not essential
- Low ego and high collaborative instinct; this is a team that moves fast and makes decisions together
