An exciting opportunity has become available for an Electrical Engineer to join a well-established electrical contractor delivering complex Building Services projects across Victoria.
Working alongside an experienced engineering and project delivery team, you will play a key role in supporting the design, coordination and delivery of electrical systems on high-profile projects within the data centre, healthcare, defence and commercial sectors.
This role is ideal for an intermediate engineer looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to technically challenging, mission-critical projects.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting projects from design development through to construction, commissioning and final handover.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Design Consultants, Site Teams and Clients to ensure electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, coordination and delivery of electrical building services projects.
- Review electrical designs, drawings and specifications for constructability and compliance.
- Perform electrical calculations including cable sizing, voltage drop, fault level and protection coordination.
- Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, hydraulic, fire and structural disciplines.
- Support procurement activities including technical reviews and equipment selection.
- Attend design coordination meetings and liaise with consultants, clients and subcontractors.
- Respond to RFIs and assist in resolving technical design issues throughout construction.
- Support commissioning activities, testing and project handover.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications and project requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Approximately 4-6 years' experience within a Building Services consultancy or consulting engineering environment.
- Experience delivering electrical designs across sectors such as data centres, healthcare, defence, commercial or institutional buildings.
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards including AS/NZS 3000 and associated electrical design standards.
- Experience producing electrical calculations including cable sizing, protection coordination and power distribution design.
- Exposure to LV distribution systems, switchboards, generators, UPS systems and emergency power systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working on mission-critical or data centre projects.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, PowerCAD, ETAP or similar electrical design software.
- Exposure to commissioning and construction support.
- Working towards or holding CPEng accreditation.
