Project Type: Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
Company: Renewable Energy Contractor
Working Arrangement: Permanent
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join a renewable energy contractor on a major BESS construction project in South Australia. This is a ground-level supervision role focused on keeping electrical contractors working efficiently, maintaining quality, and driving the programme forward. This is not a highly technical process plant role — we are looking for someone with strong industrial construction supervision experience who understands the pace and discipline of a busy construction site. FIFO and DIDO arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Supervisor
- Supervise and coordinate electrical contractors on site to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standard.
- Monitor daily progress against the project schedule and address any delays or inefficiencies promptly.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and site layouts to guide on-site execution.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with the Electrical Manager and broader project team on scope, resourcing, and programme.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks across electrical installation activities.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and documentation.
- Drive a strong safety culture across the electrical workforce on site.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor in an industrial construction environment — essential.
- Background in renewable energy or mining construction highly regarded — contractor or subcontractor experience preferred over operator side.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise electrical contractors and drive performance on a live construction site.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and construction layouts.
- Experience working with high voltage equipment in a construction context.
- Strong understanding of project schedules, quality management, and site documentation.
- Computer literate with solid administrative capability.
- Based in Adelaide or willing to FIFO or DIDO for the duration of the project.
