The Opportunity
With no sign of work slowing, this builder is now looking for an experienced Estimator
to join their Wollongong or Central Coast office.
You’ll be working closely with Directors, Project Managers, and the delivery team to prepare accurate and competitive tenders for low-rise new build projects from childcare centres to medical facilities and veterinary hospitals, typically ranging from $1M to $20M. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical detail of estimating while being involved in a close knit team with family values.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing project documentation and conducting full scope take-offs
- Preparing and submitting detailed cost estimates and tender proposals
- Coordinating subcontractor pricing, scope clarifications, and quote analysis
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to refine bids
- Assisting with handover to project teams and providing cost breakdowns
- Maintaining estimating systems and keeping up to date with market rates
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction space
- A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- High attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Confident using estimating software (Ideally Cubit)
- Proactive, organised, and eager to take ownership of your work
- Generous salary of up to $160,000 + Super depending on experience
