The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to take ownership of the estimating function: leading tenders, securing new work, and helping drive business growth. You’ll work alongside senior management and project teams to deliver high-quality, competitive submissions to a diverse mix of government and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate tenders from first principles (labor, materials, plant, subcontractors) based on drawings, specifications, and scope documents
- Review drawings, specifications, and programme schedules to assess project risks and opportunities
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing, negotiations, and relationships
- Produce cost plans, project budgets, and value engineering options for submissions
- Work closely with senior leadership and project managers to prepare competitive bids for remedial, refurbishment, fitout, or new-build projects
- Maintain clear documentation and audit trail for tender submissions and post-tender follow-ups
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience estimating projects (refurbishment, remedial or similar) up to $10 million in value
- Demonstrated track record of winning work in Government or commercial markets
- Strong local subcontractor and supplier network and knowledge of their rates/prices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
- Salary around $130k-$145k Plus Super + Car Allowance + Phone
- Full-time 40-hour week (Monday to Friday)
- Work based on the Central Coast / northern-NSW region (with access to Sydney market clients)
