The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and an active pipeline, this business is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their Sydney team based in Sydney's South East. This is a senior, high-impact role sitting at the heart of the business's bid and pre-construction function, working across complex industrial and warehouse projects of significant scale.
You'll be joining a well-resourced estimating team supported by experienced leadership, robust systems and a culture that values precision, collaboration and doing things properly. The Role
Working closely with the pre-construction and business development teams, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of detailed, competitive tenders across industrial and warehouse projects
- Conducting thorough take-offs, cost planning and trade package pricing
- Engaging and managing subcontractor and supplier relationships through the tender process
- Reviewing design documentation and identifying scope, risk and value engineering opportunities
- Contributing to bid strategy, project reviews and handover to the delivery team
- Mentoring and supporting junior estimating staff
- Maintaining and building estimating databases, benchmarks and cost libraries
- Representing the business professionally in client and consultant interactions
- 7+ years' experience in a construction estimating role, ideally with a commercial or industrial head contractor
- Proven track record pricing projects of significant scale and complexity
- Strong trade knowledge and a thorough understanding of construction methodology and sequencing
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Confident communicator with strong subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field — or equivalent industry experience
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Salary package up to $250,000 + super depending on experience
