Finance Manager – Construction Industry

An established and highly regarded construction organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its team in Wetherill Park. The business specialises in delivering complex projects across the education, healthcare, civil, and commercial sectors, with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and innovation.

This is a key leadership role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the organisation’s financial operations and play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing end-to-end financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Overseeing cash flow management and financial planning
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Driving financial strategy to support business growth and performance
  • Leading accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Reviewing and cross-checking payroll processes
  • Partnering with operational and project teams to deliver financial insights
  • Supporting executive decision-making through accurate and timely reporting
About You

You are a hands-on, commercially aware Finance Manager with strong leadership capability and experience within the construction sector.
You will bring:
  • Degree qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • CPA qualification (essential)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Finance Manager within commercial construction
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance and risk management
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Xero, and construction platforms like Procore (or similar), along with advanced MS Office skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams
  • Broad business exposure beyond finance (e.g. HR, admin, or project environments)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership
  • A proactive, “can-do” attitude with a willingness to be hands-on when required
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across team
